10 Tips for Selling Your Charlotte Area Home NOW!

1. Keep it cozy: To show a home to its best advantage during the winter, think warm, cozy, and homey. Keep your thermostat at 70 degrees during home showing hours. If your home is vacant, use a programmable thermostat and set it to have the home at 70 during the day.

2. Scents are appealing: I always have my clients have a pot of apple and cinnamon or vanilla on the stove–some may say, “But, what if the Buyers are allergic?”  The chances of that are very slim and the warm scent appeals to the Buyers senses, making them feel ‘at home.’  Other popular scents: cinnamon rolls, freshly baked bread, apple cider, molasses cookies, chocolate chip cookies and good old American apple pie! The Next Big Thing: A Garage You Want to Live in

Do you cringe when you have to go into your garage?  Can you not even park in your garage because of all the junk spread all around the room?  Well, its time for you to reconsider fixing it up and making it the place you hold your next party. Yes, the next big thing is in fact making your garage functional with flooring, cabinetry, lighting, heat and a/c, and even decorations.  Unfortunately, the garage is the most ignored room in the house.  Builders are only placing the minimum amount of lighting in the ceiling, some are not drywalled, and don’t get my started on having enough electric outlets.   Read the rest of this entry »
