Is the failing economy political hype?
Could a “Failing Economy” be Political Hype?
Sure, I know its tough out there. Energy costs, especially at the gas pump, are eating up more and more of our money. And it seems that everywhere we turn the feeling is that we are in a recession.
However, the numbers say something different. For the past 2 economic quarters we have still seen growth in our economy. Sure it was just a small gain, but it was positive. This morning, despite economists expectations of bad news about unemployment rates, the numbers actually showed that umemployment rates fell in April! And all reports earlier late last year said we would not see the real estate housing market return until 2009, but now they are saying 3rd quarter 2008. Personally, I think the real estate market turns the tide this summer nationwide, with Charlotte real estate beginning any time.
So what does this all mean? Is it all just politics? Are we in a recession? Is the sky falling?
I have been saying for months that the sky is NOT falling. Yes, we have seen a down turn in the economy and we are all feeling the crunch. But listening to the talking heads, the politicians, and the news media (which can’t say anything good) you would think we are in another great depression!
So it makes me wonder… how much of this is spin and hype from a big year in politics? How much of this is “Bold Headlines” material, and just how much of it is reality?
For those that do not subscribe to the theory that America is falling away and that our economy is dead, now is the best time to take action. While others are sitting around moping about how bad things are, you are able to take advantage of the market and make big strides. From investments to real estate, the world lays at your feet waiting to be seized!
If you live in the Charlotte NC area for example, you are part of the best real estate market in the country. Charlotte even features the best economy in the nation. So take advantage of your opportunity and stake your claim today.

Charlotte Monday Morning
Good Monday Morning Charlotte!
This morning the news is filled with gloom and doom, especially in regards to the economy. Recently Bank of America reported that their earnings were off. They only made over $1 billion in the first quarter! Yeah, they actually made $1 billion and everyone is crying!
Folks, please pay close attention to the media. A major bank makes money and yet the sky is falling! Sure, they projected more and they made less than last year… but with the economy slowed isn’t this to be expected? Look at all the other MAJOR banks that took losses and ultimately closed doors! Isn’t BOA’s $1 billion profit a GOOD THING?
Forget the bad news that the media is pushing. Take a positive step in your life and don’t buy in to all the negative spin going on. From the economy to politics, there is plenty of negative to grab on to and breathe in. But I challenge you to look for the positive areas in life.. those things that happen everyday and don’t get acknowledged. Its obvious they don’t sell the news and that is a shame.
The Charlotte NC region is strong, with a thriving economy and solid real estate market. If we continue to focus on the positive areas maybe Charlotte can help push the rest of the country in the right direction.
Positive! Let’s focus on the good stuff and leave the garbage at the dump!
Have a wonderful week.

Financial Hypochondria
{{copyright EdNailor.com}}
It had been a great day. Tina closed the deal of the week and now was ready to kick back and enjoy the weekend. However, after picking her daughter Chloe up from afterschool care, she noticed that Chloe did not look well. As she suspected, Chloe had a fever.
Tina decided to take Chloe to the doctor’s office to be checked out. To her dismay, Chloe has the flu! Somehow, on the way home from the doctor’s office, Tina wasn’t feeling so hot. She felt she too may be feeling bad and most likely also had the flu. And that’s when her illness hit her… hypochondria.
This is much like the financial hypochondria the nation is going through. Read the rest of this entry »

Zillow Launches Mortgage Marketplace
That’s right! Zillow has launched their long awaited “Mortgage Marketplace.” This not-so-great idea is being billed as a place that consumers can get quotes from multiple lenders without having to provide any personal information. Spencer Rascoff, Zillow’s chief financial officer and vice-president for marketing claims, “This is a huge step forward in terms of putting borrowers in control and giving them access to information.”
What’s wrong with this, you ask? Read on… Read the rest of this entry »
Why do you?
{{copyright EdNailor.com}}
Why do you do that?
It’s a common question asked. When compared to Snakes, Liars, Politicians and Cheaters it’s easy to see why people ask me why I do what I do. But for me, the answer is easy! I love helping people!
I love helping a first time home buyer realize a dream they never imagined would happen! I love assisting a family buying their “move up” home because they have outgrown their starter home. I love helping a family refinance their home mortgage and save hundreds of dollars, allowing them to breathe a sigh of relief! I love helping our military veteransown a piece of this great country they have served!
In short, I love what I do!
Sure, there has been a lot of bad press about the mortgage industry as of late. Much of it, although somewhat misleading, is deserved. Over the past several years, mortgage companies offered ill-advised loans to the wrong borrowers. And with so much “easy money” flowing and over inflated profits realized, even the most reserved of mortgage lenders jumped too far in. So now the entire country is having to correct itself and many people are paying the price.
However, with all the bad news, there is good news too. The Charlotte North Carolina real estate market is still very strong. Charlotte mortgage rates are still at all time lows. And if you have been on the fence about buying a home, Charlotte FHA and VA mortgage loans could make this the best time to buy ever!
So when seeking a Charlotte mortgage company to work with, be sure to find someone that loves what they do. It should be their passion, not their job.

New Home Trend in Charlotte

The Hottest and Greenest Trend
in Real Estate Hits Charlotte!
The the latest in Home Design hits Charlotte NC– a design which is both friendly to the environment — AND cuts down on the rising cost of your monthly food bill. Yes folks… its a real Gingerbread House!

The designer and architect of this project was proud to offer a scaled model (see right) for display. Now made from double reinforced and glazed gingerbread, these 1 or 2 story homes can be custom made to meet the needs of your busy family. These life-size homes feature economical frosting and gumdrop roofs — which are only an issue in hot climates, such as Florida. The Charlotte climate can safely sustain these great homes!
If you have young kids, you will want to consider upgrading to the marshmallow flooring that can be easily installed for just a fraction more cost. …
Charlotte mortgage loans for these homes are still in the works!
Oh yes, and a happy April Fool’s Day to ya!

What does your lender do?
Welcome to Joe’s Mortgages & Equipment Leasing.
(and credit card processing, and commercial loans, and small business loans, and credit repair service, and foreclosure negotiators, and payoff accelerator services, and cash advance store… and you name it, we’ll do it!)
What in the world am I talking about?!?!
Looking through one of the major publications aimed at mortgage professionals I began to notice a disturbing trend. The articles and the ads are all geared towards mortgage lenders offering everything BUT mortgages. These items range from offering clients cash advances to equipment leases! What in the world do these have to do with the financing of a person’s home?
When a lender can not find a way to write a mortgage, they begin to look for alternatives. Those that offer all types of services never get really good at any of them. And believe me, the mortgage business is a full time, ever changing business. Especially today!
Be sure the mortgage lender you are working with is focused on what they should do… mortgages. While I can offer advice on credit issues, I do not operate a credit repair company. While I can write commercial mortgage loans, my focus is on the residential market. I have no desire to lease equipment (what?) nor credit card processing. I have associates that I can refer that stuff to.
I write mortgage loans. I work to find my clients the right mortgage for their home ownership needs. And working with both home buyers and current home owners, I can offer purchase and refinance mortgages in the Charlotte area. I am fully licensed in North and South Carolina. I am focused and that keeps me busy.
So beware the jack of all trades, master of none. After all, its about more than a mortgage… its about your family… your life! Don’t trust it with someone who’s not focused on finding you the right solution.
