How are you challenging the system? Or are you? Do you simply conform to what others say you should do, or are you changing the world?
Earlier today I had a conversation with someone. We talked about trying to please everyone. A long time ago I gave up on trying to please others. I figured out that once I finally pleased one group, another one would then have a reason to hate me!
So now, it comes down to this…
I have accepted that for life to really be satisfying and worthwhile, you must live in a way that others will either hate you or love you. For either emotion requires you to have impacted their lives in a great way. If you have had no impact, they will simply forget you regardless of a good or bad impression. How sad is that?
While I would love to have the impact on other’s lives that make them love me, I am sure there are a few out there that feel they deserve to hate me. And to those I apologize, ask your forgiveness and then let it go. I can not change the past, but only look to the future and work didligently to make a positive impact in the lives of those I touch every day.
